Flood Insurance update for Florida – will it extend?

The current period for the National Flood Insurance Program is set to expire tomorrow, July 31st.  The House has unanimously passed the bill and it is now in the Senates hands for a vote early this week to avoid expiration.  We are looking at a 4 month extension and I am hopeful that the Senate will make vote accordingly.  It would be a detrimental effect on the housing market to cancel flood insurance in the height of hurricane season.
