What Happens When Offices Reopen?

This is all happening very quickly. Since the CDC announced recently that all vaccinated people can forgo their masks (exclusions apply) the question begs to be answered – what happens to all these people that moved away from their homes and offices now that offices will reopen and want their workforce back?

As a Floridian and a REALTOR®, it’s obvious (stats back this up) that Florida has seen an influx of northerners move to our area during Covid as they can telecommute. So now what happens if these workers are called back to their hometown offices? “According to a realtor.com study, almost 60% of new homeowners who purchased within the last 12 months work from home – and 62% prefer to be. However, less than half have been told that they can continue to do so. About 25% those surveyed have no definitive answer on whether they can remain fully remote indefinitely; another 25% already have plans to return.” Full Article Here

This is quite the conundrum and the article states that a majority of those workers would find other work – they’d rather stay in their new chosen home states. Life has changed so dramatically in the last 14 months or so, that we’re still trying to catch up with the Exodus from certain states. We continue to work with our clients as best we can in this hurried, frantic market. We don’t see a lull happening anytime soon, so we continue to move swiftly and decisively for our clients.
