Best Places to Retire? Sarasota is #1

Longboat Key

U.S. News & World Report’s latest ranking of top retirement communities could have almost said, “Pick any town in Fla.” Seven Fla. metros are in the top 10: Sarasota (No. 1), Fort Myers (2), Port St. Lucie (3), Naples (4), Ocala (6), Miami (9) and Melbourne (10).

When you live here, you know why Florida has a majority of the best places to retire in America. Up and down the coasts, we have beautiful beaches, world-class dining and entertainment, amazing golf courses, ample tennis/pickleball courts, and the people. Everyone smiles when they’re on a beach!

Florida also has no state income tax and has lower real estate taxes than many metro areas across the US. There are so many planned communities here that it’s not uncommon for people to find they make more friends and have more fun than they ever had living up north. I have met so many great people from all over the US that have moved here. The multi-generational influence coupled with the diversity of the people makes for great conversations.

I’m always giddy working with clients that are moving here for the first time – there’s so much to brag about.
