Venice IS known as the shark-tooth-capital of the world for a reason – Earlier this month, charter boat captain Michael Nastasio found a megalodon tooth measuring 5 7/8 inches. If you’re not familiar with megalodons, they were Great White Sharks but about 90 feet long! If you’re ever in Venice all you need is a screen sifter and some patience and you will find prehistoric shark teeth; many are over 20 million years old.
